Venice, the city of canals, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and a very romantic place with all its palaces and bridges. Situated in the north-east of Italy, Venice is the capital of the Veneto region and is built on a collection of 120 islands, in a lagoon close to the Adriatic Sea. To the south is the River Po, and to the north the River Piave.
